Central AC and Heat Pump Tune-Ups

The incentive for Central AC and Heat Pump Tune-Ups is no longer offered for services completed on or after February 16, 2015. Applications for services completed on or before February 15, 2015, will be accepted if postmarked within 90 days of service completion.

Requirements for services completed on or before February 15, 2015

  • Incentives are available for existing homes only
  • Incentive amount cannot exceed the total cost of the project
  • Qualified Contractors are required to complete measure specific program worksheets that must be submitted with the incentive application
  • All required documentation must be postmarked within 90 days of the work completed date
  • Additional incentive-specific qualifications and required documentation are listed below

Central air conditioner tune-up

  • Work must be completed by a Qualified Contractor
  • Incentive available on existing central air conditioners only
  • Existing central air conditioner must serve at least 80% of the home's conditioned floor area
  • Air flow test and performance check are required as outlined in the Wyoming HVAC Trade Ally Program Manual:
  • Central air conditioner tune-up may only be performed when outdoor temperatures are above 65° F following performance check protocols
  • Incentives are limited to one tune-up incentive per unit every five years
  • Required documents include:
    • Completed and signed Incentive Application
    • Itemized receipt/trade ally invoice (see incentive application for invoice requirements)
    • Completed and signed Tune-up worksheet
    • IRS W-9 Forms (for business and non-individual customers receiving incentives)

Heat pump tune-up

  • Work must be completed by a Qualified Contractor
  • Incentive available on existing heat pumps only
  • Existing heat pump must serve at least 80% of the home's conditioned floor area
  • Air flow test and performance check are required as outlined in the Wyoming HVAC Trade Ally Program Manual:
  • Heat pump tune-up may be performed year round following performance check protocols
  • Incentives are limited to one tune-up incentive per unit every five years
  • Required documents include:
    • Completed and signed Incentive Application
    • Itemized receipt/trade ally invoice (see incentive application for invoice requirements)
    • Completed and signed Tune-up worksheet
    • IRS W-9 Forms (for business and non-individual customers receiving incentives)

Customer Eligibility

Residential electric customers residing in the state of Wyoming who purchase their electricity from Rocky Mountain Power on rate schedules 2 or 18 qualify. Landlords who own rental properties served by the company in the state of Wyoming where the tenant is billed on rate schedules 2 or 18 also qualify for this program. You can locate your rate schedule on your bill or by calling 1-888-221-7070. Incentive checks are only issued in the name of the Rocky Mountain Power accountholder.

How to Apply

Prior to starting a project, find a contractor using the Qualified HVAC Contractors list. Note that select incentives must be completed by a Program-Qualified HVAC Contractor. Review the Incentive Application with your contractor to determine eligibility requirements, incentive qualifications and review the list of required documents to submit for an incentive.

Incentive application and required documents must be postmarked within 90 days of the service completion date. Please allow six weeks plus mail service time for delivery of your incentive check after your application and receipt and approved. Missing information may delay processing and delivery of your incentive check. Checks are only payable to the account holder. Incentives are not to exceed the purchase price of the equipment or service. Equipment and service work may be inspected for compliance.
